I came to The Daring Way™ and the research of Brené Brown after years of therapy and spiritual practice because I continued to bump into emotional blocks and unwanted habitual responses that were getting in the way of what I really wanted. I was so often frustrated. I used to think I was very alone in my struggle and that my hard stories were something to hide in shame, all my fault, or a signal that I wasn’t enough or something was wrong with me. The Daring Way™ has given me a new doorway of perception, a new language, and tools to greater understand myself. It has expanded my capacity to tolerate discomfort, overcome personal insecurities, and move through fear of the unknown. It has also expanded my capacity to empathize and accept other human beings, especially those closest to me.
What is The Daring Way™?
The Daring Way™ is a highly experiential methodology based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown. The method was designed for work with individuals, couples, families, work teams, and organizational leaders. It can be facilitated in clinical, educational, and professional settings. During the process we explore topics such as vulnerability, courage, shame, and worthiness. We examine the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that are holding us back and we identify the new choices and practices that will move us toward more authentic and wholehearted living. Belonging starts with self-acceptance. Your level of belonging, in fact, can never be greater than your level of self-acceptance because believing that you’re enough is what gives you the courage to be authentic, vulnerable and imperfect.
